South Midlands PRA/PC Training Day. Morning Slot
Entries for this day are now closed but we are running a waiting list. Please email verity@ponyracingauthority.co.uk if you wish to attend a Training Day.
Held at:
Hull Farm Stables, Stratford Rd, Chipping Norton OX7 5QF
by kind permission of Charlie Longsdon Racing.
This Training Day will provide training for pony racing and allows the combination of pony and rider to qualify for Point-to-Point Pony Races and Pony Club Pony Race Days in 2023. Older Jockeys may also use the day to qualify for the PRA Racecourse Series. It includes ridden and non-ridden sessions.
Due to parking constraints, we plan to run 2 different Training Day sessions. One in the morning starting by 9.30am and one in the afternoon, likely starting around 1pm. Timings will be confirmed nearer the time.
There is no catering on site. Please be sure to bring refreshments with you.
A guide to the day AND tack list is available on the Training Day page of this website. Ponies will need an overgirth and neck strap. They MUST also be microchipped AND be fully vaccinated against Equine Influenza with a booster in the last 6 months before the Training Day.
Please note that this booster must be more than 6 days before the Training Day which means that if you vaccinate on a Monday, you are not clear to attend a PRA event until the following Monday.
Passports will be checked in advance of the day.
Please be sure to enter your pony using the
registered name on their passport.
Entries for the Training Day close up to 2 weeks before the day or when full.
Spaces are strictly limited and early booking is advised.

The children will take part in a number of different sessions including both riding and non-riding exercises, teaching them about balance and fitness required for pony racing.
If all goes well and they are happy to do so, they will ride on the gallops. If the instructors are satisfied they are safe and in control of their pony, they will be qualified to ride in PRA and Pony Club pony races in 2023.
