This Training covering Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Jockey/Pony Combinations is run at the National Horseracing College (NHC) in Doncaster.
LEVEL 1 … is the introductory level for riders who are attending their first training day, and those who have not ridden in any form of Pony Race. Progress to the next level is determined by the National Horseracing College Jockey Coach.
LEVEL 2 … is designed for junior jockeys who have taken part in two or more pony races (on the pony they intend riding during the training day); this includes Pony Club Pony Races.
LEVEL 3 … day is open to riders who have won a pony race or finished second/third in two or more pony races (on the pony they intend riding during the training day); this includes Pony Club Pony Races.
Pony Racing Camp does not qualify you for level 3.
Level 3 is required for both PRA Point-to-Point Pony Racing and the PRA Racecourse Series.
These days held at the National Horseracing College are run slightly differently to our PRA/PC Training Days and are level based with children progressing from Level 1 through to Level 3 to qualify to take part in PRA races.
