These Pony Races will be run under a Covid-Secure Regime and will follow legislation / requirements put in place by the Local Authority, the Host Hunt, the Point-to-Point Authority (PPA), the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and the Pony Racing Authority (PRA).
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
ONLY ONE ENTRY PER CHILD WILL BE PERMITTED FOR THE FIXTURES OPEN FOR ENTRY.
THE SAFETY FACTOR IS 10.
RACES WILL NOT DIVIDE.
THREE RESERVES WILL BE ADVERTISED.
ALL RACES WILL OPERATE ALONG THE LINES OF “ARRIVE, COMPETE & LEAVE”.
ONLY TWO ADULTS ARE ALLOWED TO ATTEND PER RIDER / PONY COMBINATION. (No siblings or extended family).
A DECLARATION TO RUN WILL BE REQUIRED BY12 NOON ON THE THURSDAY BEFORE THE RACE.
It is our aim that every registered PRA member gets as many opportunities to race as possible. However due to the reduced number of fixtures, there is a likelihood that balloting may be required.
Therefore, for this fixture, balloting will be done as per Regulation 28 (ix) i.e. those closest to the venue will take priority.
Going forward children who have not had an opportunity to race will be given priority if races are oversubscribed.
REGISTRATION TO ATTEND
Those attending will need to register their attendance with the hunt hosting the Point-to-Point. Details of how to register will be sent via email along with the information relevant to the Races, Social Distancing Requirements, Timings and Details of Where to be and When, within 24 hours of the Entries Closing Deadline.
Please remember the Point-to-Point is a compromise being run with a limited resource. Therefore, it is incumbent upon everyone, especially you as competitors to help make it work. A dim view will be taken if anyone is found to be gaming the system and it will jeopardise your opportunity to take part going forward.
It’s down to a lot of work by those behind the scenes and the hunts who have been determined to put the fixtures on that we have been able to provide the opportunity for pony racing, so please show your appreciation by being polite and courteous in the run up to and on the day itself, to all those involved in getting the races off the ground.
Most importantly though when you get the chance of a run – enjoy it.
Information relating to these races in the run up to the day will be circulated via email by Lucy Felton. Should you have any general enquiries please call her on 07771 518258 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
