A COMBINATION MAY ONLY MAKE ONE ENTRY ON ANY ONE WEEKEND.
Ponies may NOT be led to the start. A hunt escort will be provided.
Combinations placed 1st & 2nd in BOTH races will qualify for the East Anglian Area Finals. Where the 1st and 2nd combinations have already qualified, the next best will qualify.
Any 128cms & under combinations running will automatically qualify for the 128 Final.
The Finals will be held at Northaw on Monday, 2nd May
The Mark Weatherhead Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the leading rider from the East Anglian Area during the season.
The De La Sayette Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the leading Novice Rider from the East Anglian Area.
(A Novice Rider is someone who has NOT won ANY pony race before the start of the 2022 Point-to-Point Pony racing Season.)
The following points will be awarded for the trophies: 1st: 10, 2nd: 6, 3rd: 4, 4th: 2.
With regard to balloting please note:
Should a ballot be required (if more than 10 entries are received), priority with be given to, in the following order:
1) First time Riders.
2) Those riders who have had the least number of runs
3) Those closest to the venue as per their PRA membership registered post code.
up to a maximum of 10 entries with three reserves being advertised following the deadline.
The Races will take place BEFORE the official PtP Races.
Race 1: 138cms & under INTERMEDIATE Race
For COMBINATIONS who haven’t WON or been placed second in an OPEN Point Point-to- Point or an OPEN Pony Club Race and who haven’t WON more than TWO INTERMEDIATE races.
Riders can’t have been placed first, second or third in any race in the Racecourse Series nor WON an OPEN Point-to-Point or an OPEN Pony Club Race. The Rider must have qualified the pony as per the PRA Regulations.
Race 2: 148cms & under CONFINED HUNT CONDITIONS Race
For Combinations who are qualified as per the PRA Regulations and which have qualified with the following hunts in the East Anglian Area or who are member of the relevant Pony Club.
Ponies can NOT have won any Pony race.
Cambridgeshire Harriers, Dunston Harriers, North Norfolk Harriers, Thurlow, Cambridge University Draghounds, Waveney Harriers, Cambridgeshire with Enfield Chace, Suffolk, Puckeridge, Essex & Suffolk, Essex with Farmers Union, West Norfolk and the Enfield Chace with Cambridgeshire.
