This is the seventh year of the highly popular “Novice Riders” Race Series which will see 17 qualifying races being staged around the country culminating in a final for each height category (numbers permitting) at the 2019 Point-to-Point Pony Racing Championship Finals which is being hosted at the Exmoor Point-to-Point on Sunday, 2nd June. It’s target audience is for those children who want to have a go but don’t want the pressure of competitiveness from seasoned pony racers. Combinations who have run in a qualifying race in the 2019 season will be eligible to enter and run in the final.
A Novice Riders Championship will be run during 2019 and points will be allocated as follows:
1st: 6 2nd: 4 3rd: 2 4th: 1
The rider with the most points will be presented with their award at the annual PRA awards at the end of the year.
Riders are asked to make their way to the start independently. A hunt escort will be provided. Ponies may not be led to the start.
The races form part of the “West Midlands Area” Riders Points Championship which is open to all riders riding in the WM area.
The West Midland Championship prizes are kindly sponsored by “TWEENHILLS”(www.tweenhills.com) who also generously sponsor the rosettes and number cloths.
The Championship prizes will be awarded at the Wheatland meeting on 11th May. Please note that anyone riding at this meeting will gain extra points.
Please contact the secretary if you require a car pass / e-ticket.
There are two races at this meeting and they will take place BEFORE the official PtP races.
