Thank you for entering the Training day at
PRA/PC Training Day - Scotland
You will need to be at the venue by 09:30. Parents are expected to stay. You will need to bring the pony’s passport with you. Please also bring a picnic lunch and other snacks that you and your child/ren need on the day.
Please email clarissa@ponyracingauthority if you need a tack and equipment list. You are not expected to have race saddles or any specialist racing kit for either your child or pony. However we do ask that all saddles (either GP or racing) have a surcingle/overgirth, every pony has a neckstrap if not being ridden in a martingale and your reins are either stitched or buckled (no billets please).
The Training Day is an assessment day where children and their ponies will be independently assessed as to their competency as a combination. The Senior Assessor will make a decision as to their level of competency and we will write to you following the day, informing you whether the combination passed the assessment. If, for whatever reason, the combination were not deemed to meet the level of competency required on this occasion, it will be necessary for them to be re assessed at a later stage in order for them to be eligible to enter to take part in any PRA pony races.
Please be aware that the participants may be photographed or filmed during this Training Day, therefore it is important that you read and understand the statement below:
Photographic Rights – competitors and their guardians hereby give permission for any photographic, film or TV footage taken of persons or ponies taking part in Pony Races to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of the PRA, Masters of Foxhounds Association, PPA or organisers of the Point-to-Point. Competitors and their guardians consent to the organizers providing information that they may think will be of benefit. This may be done by post, by fax, by e-mail or via websites.
Please do get in touch with me if there is ANYTHING you need to know. Although this is an assessment day – the idea is to have a lot of FUN too!
