Pony Racing has become an important part of a jockeys development with over 100 young riders progressing from Pony Racing to now holding a jockeys license with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) as either a professional or amateur Flat or Jump jockey.

There are now a number of Pony Racing Graduates having a successful career in professional racing with the likes of Sam Twiston-Davies having a number of successful seasons after winning the 148cm Leading Rider title in 2007.

More recently Sean Bowen became the youngest jockey to ride in the Grand National in 2015 and also took the Conditional Jockey Title in the same year. Tom Marquand graduated from Pony Racing in 2014 and had a great start to his professional career on the flat becoming Stobart Apprentice Jockey 2015.

After the 2015  season we are already aware of three jockeys who have secured jobs with yards to continue their racing career into when they graduate from Pony Racing and we hope to see many more in the future.
