Amateur Jockeys Association Supports Pony Racing

The PRA are delighted that the Amateur Jockeys Association are sponsoring the best turned out in each race in the 2018 Charles Owen Series.

The Amateur Jockeys Association and the Pony Racing Authority have always worked closely together. Clarissa Daly from the PRA said, “We are delighted the Amateur Jockeys Association are supporting the Charles Owen Series. The pony racers of today will be the amateur jockeys of the future so it is a natural link.”

The Charles Owen Series is 24 fixtures over the summer period, with the prestigious finals set to be run at York Racecourse on 9th September 2018. The best turned out is judged by someone from the Racecourse and each winner is presented with prize kindly provided by the Amateur Jockeys Association.

Sarah Oliver of the AJA said: “The AJA are really pleased to have the opportunity to support pony racing which provides the best possible foundations for amateur jockeys to start their careers and instills in them many invaluable disciplines and skills.  We wish this summer’s pony racers the best of luck for a great season ahead.”
